Sudden cardiac emergencies can happen anywhere, including sports facilities, schools, and workplaces. Having trained staff and accessible AED equipment can make a critical difference before EMS personnel arrive.
Why CPR & AED Preparedness Matters
Immediate CPR and access to an AED can help save lives during sudden cardiac emergencies. Organizations that prepare ahead of time with CPR and AED training can respond more confidently while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
Northbrook Emergency Highlighted the Importance of Training
In 2018, trained staff members at Athletico Center in Northbrook responded during a sudden cardiac emergency involving teen athlete Christopher Panchi shortly after completing CPR & AED training through Citywide CPR.
Staff members, medical professionals, and responders quickly initiated CPR and used an AED until paramedics arrived.
Alan Lermer from Citywide CPR was featured in ABC7 Chicago discussing the importance of AED preparedness and trained staff response during emergencies.
We are grateful for Christopher’s recovery and thankful for the quick response of everyone involved.
Why Organizations Should Prepare Before Emergencies Happen
Sports facilities, schools, gyms, businesses, and community organizations can all benefit from CPR and AED preparedness training. Having recently trained staff and accessible AED equipment can improve emergency response during critical situations.
Citywide CPR provides onsite CPR, AED, and First Aid training programs throughout the Chicago area.
